Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) is a multi-cultural international grassroots volunteer organization dedicated to reducing interpersonal violence. AVP Maryland is an officially affiliated chapter of AVP-USA.

Founded in and developed from the real life experiences of incarcerated people who saw a better way forward and Quaker volunteers, built upon a spiritual base, AVP encourages every person's innate power to learn and grow, and to positively transform themselves and the world around them.
